Letter from the President
Welcome to the Berea Chamber of Commerce! I look forward to a prosperous year for the Chamber and for our community of Berea. Our community has much to offer the business world as well as family life. Berea has a wide array of business opportunities. We have a great local hospital, industry, locally owned small businesses, Berea College and two highly ranked school systems. Our goal as a Chamber is to promote and support all of our businesses and their employees.
As a Chamber we encourage all of our business owners and employees to become involved with the Chamber and our committees. We are looking forward to involving our younger business people in the Chamber and help us step into the future.
We would like to have the input of our members on how to better serve and promote the local business community. If your business is not currently a member we would encourage you to become a part of the Chamber. There are numerous benefits and opportunities including networking, direct referrals, events and activities and much more.
We have a diverse and devoted board. The executive committee members are Greg Gerard, Frankie Blevins, Stephanie Owens, Mike McCord and myself. The executive director is David Rowlette. Carmel Lympany is our assistant . Please feel free to contact any of the executive committee or the Chamber staff at 859-986-9760. I can be reached at 859-661-2036 and please feel free to call at any time.
Today, we continue our efforts to promote prosperity and enhance the quality of life in the Folk Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky by:
- supporting current businesses;
- encouraging new business development;
- enhancing communication and collaboration; and
- promoting Berea as a place to live and work.
I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president and I look forward to working with our members and the community in 2010.
Josie Burnell
2010 Chamber President
